I had been hearing a lot about this particular product from other makeup artists and decided to try it out. I’m not going to lie, the fact that it is endorsed by Kim K and her makeup artist did sweeten the deal for me!
It’s called Ben Nye Luxury Powder.
According to the brand, Ben Nye powders are super finely milled with a silky smooth texture that can be used on any skin type. These powders will not clog pores, but they set makeup and reduce shine!
Kim Kardashian’s makeup artist uses this powder to set her highlight. As you can see in the pics below, KK does a heavy highlight under her eyes. Sometimes this can result in the makeup creasing in fine lines. Basically these powders set makeup while smoothing out any imperfections (fine lines, uneven texture). It will mattify the oily/creamy nature of concealer and foundation and lasts all day!
I ordered the Banana color (the most universal), but the other one I would suggest is the Cameo shade. Below is a pic of me with a highlight/concealer set with the banana powder. I didn’t cake the concealer on because I didn’t want it to “glow” in pictures like I had white circles around my eyes. But I did a more natural version of KK’s concealer highlight.
Here’s what you do:
Put on your foundation like normal. Next, take a concealer that is one shade LIGHTER than your skin tone. Using a flat synthetic brush or a beauty sponge, pat the concealer from corner to corner under your eyes, all the way down to your cheekbones. Next, take a fluffy eyeshadow brush and blend out the harsh edges. Use that same brush to set the whole highlight with the Banana or Cameo powder.
